A high-water mark of Bobby Hutcherson's 1970s Blue Note output, Montara, is a feel-good album that found the vibraphonist conjuring up an intoxicating hybrid of Latin jazz and fusion grooves from the percolating rhythms of "La Malanga," "Yuyo," and "Oye Como Va" to the alluring "Montara" and "Love Song." This stereo Blue Note Tone Poet Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket.
