The Calling's certified platinum debut album Camino Palmero was released in 2001 and marked the band as one of the year's major alternative rock breakthroughs, featuring the hit singles Adrienne, Could It Be Any Harder, and the chart-dominating Wherever You Will Go, which achieved worldwide success and heavy radio rotation. 

The album went on to sell over one million copies in the United States, securing its status as a defining early 2000s rock release that continues to resonate with fans. Camino Palmero also includes notable guest contributions from Whitesnake member and Cher bandleader Paul Mirkovich, acclaimed session bassist Bob Glaub who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Journey, and Bob Dylan, and producer Ron Fair, known for producing multiple number one hits.
