A poetic songwriter and lyricist, Anne Clark gained a devout legion of fans during the '80s and because of her experiments with both dance music and more elaborate orchestral pieces, Anne Clark won the approval of club denizens and indie purists. 'Hope Road' was the closest she came to a pop hit. When it comes to 1980's synth-pop, Anne Clark is one of the names that are remembered, her incisive spoken lyrics giving her a mark of distinction among her peers. Her fifth album 'Hopeless Cases' has kept it's charm and makes for a good listen. The particularly catchy and danceable 'Homecoming' was a well-deserved alternative hit back in the day, but it's far from the only moment of interest here.
